Kitchen 1: white hex tile with new countertops
This kitchen got new white stone countertops and an elongated hex tile backsplash running up to the window. Doors and drawers came off so every edge could be protected, and the tile was cut tight around every outlet and the window trim.

Kitchen 2: glossy subway-style tile
The second kitchen kept its wood cabinets and dark granite. The old wall was prepped and patched smooth first, because a glossy tile shows every bump behind it. Then the new tile went on from the countertop up to the cabinets.

How is a backsplash installed?
- Countertops and cabinets are covered and protected
- Old tile comes off, or the wall is patched and smoothed
- The layout is planned so cut pieces end up in the corners, not the middle
- Tile is set, cut around outlets and windows, and left to cure
- Grout, then a clean caulk line where the tile meets the countertop
How much does a backsplash cost in Atlanta?
It depends on how many feet of wall, the tile you choose (small mosaics take longer than large tiles), and whether old tile has to come off first. Text a photo of your kitchen and you’ll get a price before any work begins. Estimates are free.
