Soft or rotten deck boards
Boards that feel spongy, crack or split are replaced with new ones, fastened into the joists below. While a board is up, the joist under it is checked, because rot often starts where water sits between the board and the frame.
Loose railings and steps
A railing that moves when you lean on it is the first thing to fix. Posts are tightened or re-bolted, and loose balusters refastened. Cracked or sagging steps are rebuilt with new treads and, if needed, new stringers.
Staining and sealing
Georgia sun dries wood out and rain soaks it back up, which is what makes boards crack and gray. A clean deck with a fresh coat of stain or sealer every couple of years keeps the wood stable. The deck is cleaned and prepped by hand before staining; power washing isn’t a service we offer.
Repair or rebuild?
If the frame underneath (the joists, beams and posts) is solid, repair is the right call. If the frame itself is rotten or the deck pulls away from the house, it’s a bigger job, and Ramzi will tell you before anything is quoted.
How much does deck repair cost in Atlanta?
It depends on how many boards, railings and steps, the decking material and whether staining is included.
Small jobs like this usually fit inside a Honey-Do Day: $350 for a half day (4 hours) or $600 for a full day (8 hours), and the rest of your list can go in the same visit.
Every price depends on the job and can change once Ramzi sees it. Text Ramzi a few photos for the final price, agreed before any work starts. Estimates are free.
Handyman jobs only: small fixes, adjustments and installs like mounting a TV, fixing a sticky door, hanging shelves and furniture assembly. These rates are for one person working alone. If the job needs more than one person, the price will change.
