When can drywall be repaired?
- Holes of any size where the board around them is dry and solid
- Cracks at seams and over doors and windows
- Nail pops
- Dents, scrapes and torn paper
- Water stains where the drywall is dry and still firm
When does drywall need to be replaced?
- It is wet, soft or crumbling
- Mold is growing on it or behind it
- A ceiling is sagging between the joists
- The damage covers most of the wall
- The wall is being opened anyway, for new framing or a layout change
What about mold on drywall?
Drywall with mold growing on it, or behind it, is cut out and replaced, not painted over. Large areas of mold, or mold that keeps coming back, point to an ongoing moisture problem that has to be found and fixed first.
Is replacing a section of drywall a big job?
Not usually. A damaged section is cut out back to the studs or joists, and new board is hung, taped and finished to match. It’s a bigger version of a patch, not a new wall.

Which costs less?
Repair, nearly always. Most repairs fit in a Honey-Do Day: $350 for a half day (4 hours) or $600 for a full day (8 hours). Replacing larger sections or whole ceilings is quoted as a project.
Every price depends on the job and can change once Ramzi sees it. Text Ramzi a few photos for the final price, agreed before any work starts. Estimates are free.
Handyman jobs only: small fixes, adjustments and installs like mounting a TV, fixing a sticky door, hanging shelves and furniture assembly. These rates are for one person working alone. If the job needs more than one person, the price will change.
